The 3's will finish up the theme of Bears, Birds and Polar Animals and will enter into the exciting world of Dinosaurs!  This month's new word will be "Extinction".  The children will be creating Valentine's Day crafts for their parents as well as for the troops serving overseas.  We will also be discussing Groundhog's Day, celebrating Presidents' Week, and will continure to build upon our Winter theme.

4 year old class:

The 4's are continuing their unit on dinosaurs.  They enjoyed watching a part of the video Fantasia which portrayed prehistoric time and dinosaurs.  They painted a mural and named it "Dinosaur Time" and it is displayed in the hallway.  With the upcoming Valentine holiday, the children made valentines for the military troops which led to a discussion about caring for others.  They are now busy making special valentines for their families and are practicing their writing skills on the heart shaped cutouts. For Presidents' Week, they will learn about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and today's president (Barack Obama). The children are also counting the days that they have been in school and soon it will be 100 days!!  They will have a 100th day celebration which will include pizza and other yummy treats.  School is so much fun!!
