The 3's and 4's enjoyed their Thanksgiving Feast last week as Native Americans and Pilgrims. Our music teacher, Miss Sue, led the children in Thanksgiving and Fall themed songs and dance. Students then enjoyed their Thanksgiving snack feast.
2 Year Old Class:
During the month of November, we will be talking turkey! To get the toddlers ready for Thanksgiving, we will be singing our "Suzy Turkey" song. They will also be crafting a special turkey for home. Early literacy will be emphasized by the interactive way we read Brown Bear, Brown Bear. The children will continue to learn each other's names through the ball song at circle time. 3 Year Old Class: The 3's are settling back in after the Hurricane and Nor'Easter. The children are busily preparing for the upcoming Thanksgiving Feast. They will dress like the Native Americans and will share snack with the four year old Pilgrims. We are introducing the theme of "Sharing and Caring" which will run through the holidays. During circle time, we will read stories about giving thanks and talk about what we are thankful for. 4 Year Old Class: November centers around Thanksgiving and the approaching winter season. The 4’s will discuss the many good things they have and what they are thankful for. The children will make Thanksgiving wreaths and placemats. Helping people affected by Hurricane Sandy teaches an important life lesson of "Sharing and Caring" for others. After learning about the Pilgrims and Native Americans, the 3’s and 4’s will share a Thanksgiving Feast together and enjoy singing the many turkey songs they’ve learned. The end of the month will focus on animals and how they get ready for winter: migration, hibernation, and adaptation will be discussed. The children will put together a book reinforcing this animal topic. Superheroes, princesses, and more had a fun time at the NNS Halloween Party. A special thanks to our volunteers that helped make it a great event!
