2 Year Old Class:
December in the 2's is so much fun!  The children are getting ready for the arrival of you know who. Circle songs will include tap your bells, smells like Christmas, and jingle bells.  They will also be making some special crafts for our trees at home.  The celebration will end with a party on the last day of class and if we are lucky, a visit from the jolly one himself, ho ho ho!!!!

3 Year Old Class:
The 3's are busy getting ready for the holidays.  The children are getting messy painting and decorating presents, stockings, candy canes and dreidels.  In addition, decorations are being made for our school "Giving Tree," and the class made cards for the troops stationed in Afganistan.   A new gingerbread village has been created with a class house and gingerbread boys & girls.  The children will be baking gingerbread cookies as a compliment to the letter "G" lesson.  Holly leaves will become part of our class wreath and the letter "H" lesson.  The 3's will be starting the theme of winter and learn about what animals get ready for this time of year.

4 Year Old Class:
December brings the study of animals in winter.  A personal book is created about adaptation, migration, and hibernation followed by a discussion of animals and how they manage the cold weather.  Each child shows his/her knowledge of squirrels, deer, snowshoe hares, and Canadian geese in their books.   There is a discussion about the December holidays and how they are celebrated.  The children are busy making special gifts and holiday cards for their families.  Each class writes a letter to Santa, learning the parts of a letter as they eagerly await his arrival.  The 4’s are also busy practicing the songs they will sing for the Holiday Concert.  They are excited to have their families come to school to see them perform.
